I’m struggling to count how many times I’ve seen people who command a huge audience, have digital products, services or high ticket offers, and sit on an email list they don’t mail to…
And because of that, I’ve created this free resource that’ll go over how to easily and quickly set up your email list to get the most out of it.
Let’s begin.
Your email software
Let’s start with the basics.
If you’re using MailChimp or something similar…
For the sake of your business, change over to something that isn’t terrible.
Here are a few options:
ActiveCampaign – One of the best email software out there for coaches, consultants, or course sellers.
ConvertKit – Perfect if you’re a course seller with an audience.
MailerLite – Best value for money.
GetResponse – If you’re hammering affiliate deals, this is the best option.
Choose one of the above and get started.
What should your email list consist of?
Ever heard of Occams Razor?
It states that the simplest solution is oftentimes the best solution.
And this is the philosophy that I like to apply to many areas of my life, especially email marketing.
So, here’s what your email list should consist of:
> Automated sequences (Welcome sequence for example)
> Regular broadcast emails.
> The occasional product launch.
A fairly simple strategy, yet an effective one.
How often should you sell to your list?
This usually splits opinions in the email marketing space…
But I believe you should be selling in every email.
There are a few caveats though…
Every email you send out has to be entertaining and valuable.
So even if the reader doesn’t buy, they’ve come away better than when they arrived.
However, I want to address a couple of recurring objections with people who own email lists.
Because this is what I’ll usually hear:
“I don’t want to be too salesly in my emails”…
And look, I get it.
You want to provide TONS of value to your readers, and you should.
But here’s where a lot of people go wrong…
Value doesn’t always have to mean “How To’s” or specific teachings (Usually, these are painfully boring to read and write).
Instead, value can also come in the form of entertainment, engaging stories, Us Vs Them emails, email rants, et cetera
And not only are these more enjoyable to write, but they are far more entertaining than “Here are 5 ways to lose body fat”…
Because when you do this, do you know what is most valuable?
You build a relationship with your audience which is arguably one of the most important parts.
And if you have a problem with selling, here’s a quote from Jay Abraham that will change your mind –
“If you truly believe that what you have is useful and valuable to your clients, then you have a moral obligation to try to serve them in every way possible.”
Aka: If what you have to sell is actually good, why wouldn’t you give your audience every opportunity to buy?
How often should I mail my list?
At an absolute minimum, 3 times a week.
I’ll never understand those people that mail their lists once a month.
Because if you’re frustrated with your lack of sales from your email list, here’s a brand new, breakthrough method to get more sales….
Are you ready?
Send more emails…
Yep, that’s it.
Remember earlier when I was talking about Occams Razor?
Well, it comes into play again.
Because here’s what the majority of people are looking like when trying to get more sales from their email list:

So yeah.
Minimum, 3x a week.
Maximum – as much as you can.
What if I get unsubscribes?
Good!
Unsubscribes are a good thing.
They were never going to buy any of your products or services.
And it’s the natural process of your email list becoming the most qualified list of leads you own.
So don’t worry about it.
What should you actually mail about?
Here’s a list for you:
- Testimonial emails
- Us Vs Them Emails
- A rant about your industry email
- The Story-Based email.
- The Answering a question from a subscriber’s email
- The 30-second email*
- The question commonly held beliefs email.
- This day in history email (Go to the website https://www.onthisday.com/ and you can see significant historical events that have happened on that day throughout history. You then take something interesting that happened and link it to your email.)
*Example of the 30 second email as it’s the only non self explanatory one:
====
SL: Quick question for you %FIRSTNAME%…
- Quick question
Hey %FIRSTNAME%,
Are you still looking for help with {{Pain point that you can solve with your product or service}}?
If so, reply to this email and let me know and I’ll get back to you with a personalized answer.
