What email software is right for you?

What is the best email software for you? 2023 guide

In this article, I’ll be outlining 5 different email-sending software and who they’re best suited for, so you can decide which one is best for you.

Why should you take email marketing seriously?

Before we start, why should you even be taking email marketing seriously? Well…Email marketing is (In my opinion) one of the most overlooked marketing channels in many businesses.

Don’t believe me? Check out why building an email list for your business is so necessary.

Not only that but picking the right email-sending software that suits your needs is important so you can maximize your results.

Don’t know which email marketing software is best for you? Let’s find out what email-sending provider is best for you:

Convertkit - Content Creators

Starting off with one of my favorite email-sending software – Convertkit

This software is easily one of the fasting ESPs (Email sending providers) out there and if you’re someone who is a:

  • Youtuber
  • Podcast
  • Blog
  • Author
  • Coach
  • Content Creator
  • Or want to sell any digital product

Then Convertkit is 100% for you. Here’s why:

Convertkit is created specifically for those who have an audience and want to monetize it through digital products.

In fact, there are even features on Convertkit that allow you to do this all in one place.

Some of the other features that you’ll be getting with Convertkit are:

  • Visual automation builder: Allowing you to automate emails simply and easily.
  • Intergration: Converkit integrates with 70+ other platforms, making your whole email marketing setup all the easier.
  • Opt-in forms and landing pages: This enables you to run your whole business from Convertkit.
  • Email Templates: If you’re not much of a designer, then don’t worry. Convertkit has a wide range of drag-and-drop templates that are easy to use and implement.

There are some more features, but these are the main ones that create the biggest difference in your experience of using the platform.

When it comes to pricing, this is what it looks like for the following:

As you can see, the pricing isn’t too bad when you don’t have too many subscribers…

But one of the negatives of Convertkit is that it can become quite expensive as your amount of subscribers increase and can serve as a bit of a shock if you’re not aware of this if you’re subscribers tip over into the next payment plan.

So, if Convertkit is something that you’re interested in but want to learn more about, be sure to check out my full review of Convertkit by clicking here.

So, if you have an audience, or want to build an audience, Convertkit is most likely your best option.

Getresponse - Best for affiliate

The first thing that I’ll say about GetResponse is that if you’re looking for an email-sending provider specifically for sending out affiliate emails, GetResponse is your go-to.

There are some ESPs like ConvertKit that are not too much of a fan of you sending out too many affiliate emails (And can even restrict your account for doing so).

But GetResposne is your best bet if this is what you were going to be doing.

Apart from that, GetResponse has excellent customer service aligned with a whole host of different email templates if you ever get stuck.

Another good feature of GetResponse is that it’s affordable. A lot of email-sending providers can get a bit pricey as your subscriber count increases.

Here’s GetResposne Pricing breakdown:

So, if you want an email-sending software that’s affiliate friendly, easy to use with great customer support, and all for an affordable price.

Then GetResponse sounds like it fits your email marketing needs –

If you already have experience with email marketing and are looking for something slightly more advanced, then Activecamapign is a good option.

Although it’s more expensive, it’s most definitely worth it.

Here are some notable features:

Power Automation: When it comes to email marketing automation, Activecampaign is by far the best tool. For example, you can create automation based on user behavior, allowing you to send personalized email campaigns to your users.

Offers Free Migration: If you’re currently with a different email marketing software, Activecampaign offers to migrate your whole audience onto theirs for free. You can learn more about it here.

Excellent reporting: If you’re interested in all of the reporting data of your audience when it comes to email marketing, then Activecampaign is your perfect option. Some of the reporting includes page visits, geo-tracking, and click maps.

When it comes to pricing, this is what it’s looking like for your first 1,000 subscribers:

For up to 1,000 contacts, the monthly subscription starts at $39/month and goes all the way up to $187 for the professional plan.

And as with almost all other email-sending software, the pricing works on a sliding scale and as a result, can become quite expensive if you’re getting into the 5k+ range for email subscribers.

Unfortunately, with Activecampaign, there’s currently no free plan.

So, if a free plan is something you’re looking for, I’d say Mailerlite is a better option.

Also, one feature that I like with Activecampaign is its spam filter when you send out emails.

It shows you if the contents of your emails are triggering any spam filters. And considering how important deliverability is in the email marketing space, this is a nice edition.

So, if you’re someone who just wants to send newsletters and keep in contact with your audience, one of the other options may be better suited to you.

But, if you’re looking for something that’s a bit more advanced with its automation capabilities, then ActiveCampaign is a good option.

Mailerlite - Most Affordable

If you’re on a budget, then don’t worry because there are options out there.

With Mailerlite, it allows you to have up to 1,000 subscribers without having to pay.

Here is the pricing structure:

Not only that Mailerlite is the perfect email sending software for someone who wants something straightforward and to the point.

With its super simple and easy-to-use interface, it’s a perfect option for any beginner out there who wants to get to grips with email marketing and doesn’t want a pay an arm and a leg for it.

So, if you’re someone who wants an easy to use email software WITHOUT all the bells and whistles.

Then I’d recommend using MailerLite.

You can click here to start using it for free.

Mailchimp

Honestly, I wouldn’t even bother.
